We had a fantastic Membership Meeting last night at The Metropolitan Event Centre! Janet Harder, one of the EPM Board Members and General Manager of The Met, invited us to an exclusive Bridal Fashion Show featuring the designs of Anna Lang. EPM members, as well as some new students from Red River College mingled during a wonderful champagne reception prior to the event with delicious appetizers (I think the bruschetta was definitely a crowd favourite!). Then we headed in to The MET Grand Hall to a picturesque setting featuring the decorations of Rick Mayhew and enjoyed a 3-course dinner before the show.
This event was the perfect example of teamwork and the benefit of making connections within the industry to add value to your event. The MET hosted Sutton Smithworks featuring a table full of beautiful jewelry where you could enter a draw to win a stunning matching set of earrings and a necklace, Kat Harder a local photographer raffled a photo session with a $400 value, and Anna Lang herself gave away a $2000 custom wedding dress to one lucky lady. Having extra incentives such as the aforementioned provides guests with a better overall experience. Instead of buying a $30 ticket to a show, they now have opportunities to win something and generate a greater perceived value of the evening which creates a lasting impression.
Thanks to Janet who hosted us, to all of the vendors involved, and especially to all of the EPM members and guests who attended. For those of us who are always behind the scenes, it was a welcome change to attend as a guest and see how all of the details come together to create a spectacular evening.
